21 August 2002 - On Wednesday August 21st around 25 people gathered at the
Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation in Johannesburg for the
opening of Images and Voices of Hope - Johannesburg. Coming as it did just
before the United Nations World Summit on Sustainable Development, the
subject of the global community was top of mind for those present.
Several powerful stories surfaced of key ways that the media is impacting
