Images and Voices of Hope Awards of Appreciation:
To engage
media professionals to create hope in those without hope and to a sense
of possibilities about the future of humanity.
Purpose:
To spotlight and showcase stories in the media and the
arts which bring benefit to the world. We believe that these important
stories are able to lift the vision of the world and bring hope to those
without hope.
To honor and support professionals in the media and the arts who are able to
overcome the many challenges they face and create stories that need to be
told even if they are not the most popular or sensational.
To encourage media and arts professionals to reflect on their professional
path and the choices they have made and are continuing to make, choices that
ignite and fan the flame of their highest ideals.
To recognize works of resilience which are able to make positive meaning out
of situations no matter how difficult or tragic. We seek to highlight the
capacity of media and the arts to locate what is most life-giving in our
accounts of the world. This we believe is very different from highlighting
positive stories and images.
