Program Description

Conversation  2 to 5:30 p.m.
Celebration 7 to 9 p.m.
Where: The Fashion Institute of Technology
Seventh Avenue at 27th Street
New York, New York
How: The Images and Voices program will include the following key elements.
   

Conversation: Roundtable of Thought leaders (2 to 5:30 p.m.)

Roundtable participants will consider such questions as:

  • What are some of the most powerful images, voices, and stories that stand out in media today?
  • What examples do we have of times when media has had a significant impact on the way the world understood what was possible?
  • What is the sense of the possibilities created by images and messages of hope?
  • What are the opportunities that can accrue to the media by serving humanity?

Reflection

After the collective thinking of the roundtable conversations, participants will be invited to reflect in silence on how we can all contribute to a positive vision of hope in the world.

Celebration: Evening Activities (7 to 9 p.m.)

Roundtable participants will be part of an audience of 750 people who experience images and voices through performance art and media. The celebration will also recognize select individual who have shown unusual creativity and courage in creating images and voices of hope.
