news?, presented by Martyn Lewis, 1998 Vauxhall Lectures
Martyn Lewis was born in Wales, although his father's work took the
family to Northern Ireland. A graduate of Dublin's Trinity College, Lewis
entered journalism in 1967 as a reporter for BBC Belfast. After a short
stint with HTV Wales in Cardiff, he moved to ITN where he remained until
1986 when he again joined the BBC where he is one of the most familiar
faces in Britain.
